Supported employment at Castle gives you the opportunity to work in a real workplace, earn an income and build skills with ongoing support.
We partner with local employers to create meaningful work opportunities where you can be part of a team and contribute to real outcomes.

A proven model built over time
In 2025, Castle merged with Delando Corporation, an organisation that had built strong partnerships with local employers to create integrated supported employment opportunities for over 30 years.
Today, as part of Castle, supported employment continues to grow and provide real work opportunities to NDIS participants in the community.
What is supported employment?
Supported employment is for people who want to work and need ongoing, on-the-job support to succeed.
At Castle, this means:
- Paid employment in genuine workplace environments
- Ongoing support and supervision
- A structured and supportive work setting
You’ll be part of a team, contributing to real work while building your confidence and independence.
Our employment partnerships
We offer supported employment through relationships with local employers, giving you the opportunity to work in real jobs and workplaces as part of a team.
University of Newcastle
Our crews work as part of the lawn and grounds maintenance team, mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding, planting and helping maintain landscaped areas across the Callaghan campus.
NSW Healthshare Laundry
Supported employees are part of an essential health service, helping supply clean linen to more than 30 hospitals and health facilities across NSW. Work includes sorting linen and uniforms, folding, packing, stacking and working safely with machinery.

How supported employment works
At Castle, supported employment is delivered in integrated workplaces. This means you work alongside other employees in a real workplace, with support from our team.
When you take part in supported employment, you are both an NDIS participant and a supported employee.
This means you are employed and paid for the work you do, while also receiving support funded through your NDIS plan to help you succeed in your role.
A support worker is on site to provide coaching, guidance and adjustments, helping you contribute safely and confidently.
Support workers are funded through your NDIS plan. To be eligible, a participant must have Supported Employment funding in their plan.
You are paid a supported wage, based on your individual work capacity. This is assessed thorough a formal JobAccess workplace capacity assessment.
